Stainless Steel & Glazing

Siding

  • All type of materials, excluding masonry.
  • Focuses on vertical and horizontal alignment.
  • Often corrugated, pre-engineered designs by manufacturers make these particular designs difficult to modify.
  • Takeoff phase include the entire project, directly ship to site.
  • Minor/simple changes can be cut on-site by installer if necessary.
  • Less job in this area partially due to the lack of customization and sometimes the architect designate the supplier/installer.

Stainless Steel Finish

  • For kickplate, wall cladding, columns, metal ceiling.
  • Common texture includes brushed, hairline finish, mirror-polished.
  • Often quoted together as part of the storefront item alongside interior
    ACM panels.
  • Glazing work mainly focuses on display windows and mirror columns.
  • J-profile closure at column joints (rectangular columns).
  • Up to 138" in length, anything beyond is custom-order.
  • Installation will be tricky due to the lack of butt joints, making alignment difficult.
  • Can be cut and grind on-site unlike ACM, which can be time-consuming but it further improves accuracy and minimizes production error.

Glazing

  • Glazing work is mostly subcontracted out, closely related to stainless steel work.
  • Can be divided into two major categories: mirror column finishes, storefront display shelf/window.
  • Mirror column correlates to stainless steel kickplates and joints.
  • Size customizable(138")
  • J-molds are what's being used to close off gaps.
  • Storefront display often involves tracks for the glazing which also requires stainless steel cladding as finishing.
  • Clear silicone caulking is used for tiny gaps and misalignment. It also further secures the mirror in place (*no caulking normally).
